Publish or Perish.

2 more job applications submitted today, and 1000 words of fiction written - about 675 on Hellion Prince, and 375 on a very different take on the sci-fi story I brainstormed and started the other week.  I was stuck, so I thought I'd try the same world with a different approach - one character, tightly focused, rather than a small passenger liner full of people.  I started trying to make the character's voice distinctive, and somewhat against my will found that he was dictating the narrative to me in rhythmic, alliterative, slant-rhyme heavy free verse.  It's distinctive, and I think interesting, but it's exhausting to do and I don't know where in Hell it came from, unless it was the raspberry coffee I drank today.

In any case, I'm behind on blogging but a full three days ahead of quota for writing.  And I hope to get even further ahead, until my previous goals vanish behind me.  We'll see.

A good morning.

350 words of assorted fanfic written for last week's drabble request post; and if you'd like to make a request there are still seven slots open, you know.

I want to be productive today, but I suspect I'll be too distracted by Mass Effect 2 to get much further ahead of the game.  Also, I have to go poll the Gaming Club and find out what kind of LARP they want me to run this year at Game-a-thon, as my Byzantine Empire seance LARP isn't nearly ready yet and I need to whip up something smaller, chewier, and less ambitious, most likely.

Anyway it's an auspicious beginning to the day.
