Life's pleasures are simple.

A great game last night where my players survived bad odds.

Plans with friends for the weekend -- lots of plans, even.

A huge travel mug with fresh-ground Sumatran coffee, milk, sugar, cinnamon, a little too much vanilla -- and sugar cookies to dip in it!

A chicken sandwich on honey wheat bread with cheddar, three layers of fresh baby spinach, mayo, a touch of horseradish, and a sprinkling of sea salt.

The knowledge that by the end of the day, my word count for the year will pass 50,000.

Good morning, blogosphere.  How are you?

(no subject)

683 words so far today, leaving me only a few transitional paragraphs away from reaching the final scene of Chapter Thirteen.  That... went fast.  A little heavy on the info-dump paragraphs, but then, that's what editing passes are for.

Word count for the year so far:  50,503 words.

That's almost definitely more words than I wrote the entirety of last year.  That's certainly more than 50% of what I have on The Hellion Prince.

It's a good day.
