So. I just finished reading Collegiate Harry Potter Goes To Narnia Only Instead Of The Kids From Harry Potter We Used The Cast From RENT.

AKA The Magicians, by Lev Grossman.

HOLY GOD.

I am not going to know whether I liked this book or not until I get my hands on the sequel.

That's just about the best description of that book I've ever seen.

Overall, I found it impressive and engaging, but at the time, I didn't know there was going to be a sequel until I read the last page (and even then I didn't know for sure; I was only pretty much desperately *hoping* that there was going to be a sequel). Haven't read the second one yet; I really hope it holds up.

I definitely found it engaging, but I also found myself liking and identifying with Quentin less and less the further the book went on.

But yeah, gonna see if I can pick up The Magician Kings today at the library and see where it goes now.
