Statement of Commitment to Blog, Dammit.
Jul. 15th, 2009 12:15 pmI will post regularly on this journal. I will post regularly on this journal. No really.
I made a list today of thirty-two different topics I want to blog about, from background world-building essays for my current projects, to mission statements and ethical guidelines to proclaim and discuss.
I don't know for certain if anyone will want to read them, but then, that is and isn't the point. Fort my own sake, I need to make and keep a commitment to posting regularly, to practice putting words on page until it's habit, ingrained and nigh-unbreakable.
Too, I need to work on my Writer's Ego (there's an essay about that, too). I need to remind myself that rather than worrying whether people are interested in my thoughts, I need to begin by remembering that I have something to say that's worth listening to. It's only after that bit of self-assurance that I need to concern myself with considering and polishing my words until there's no doubt that I'm right about that. Writing first, editing second.
Every weekday morning at 10:00 AM I will sit down at a computer and blog. I will talk about what's on my mind and in my fingers waiting to get onto the page, because there is always something.
Call me on it, if I screw up?
