Before I go to bed, one note:

I'm in the middle of Known To Evil by Walter Mosley - a fantastic author and a fantastic book, with so much humanity and character packed into the dialogue and even short descriptive sentences throughout.  But the one that struck me above all the rest so far is this:

"What if the Gordian knot was someone you loved?"
