Finishing up work on editing Chapter Seven of Hellion Prince -- should go up late tonight, assuming LJ maintenance is done by then.
Before I'm done, though, I need a seventh course for a dinner. More or less haute cuisine, but with all courses served at once. I have, so far:
-scallops in bearnaise sauce
-wyvernet (yay fantasy setting) in redcurrant jelly
-a salad with spinach, watercress, chervil, crumbled cheese, and black truffles
-a chicken-broth soup with scallions floating in it as onion-blossoms
-a piece montagne of fresh fruits drenched in apple brandy and served flambe.
- "floating islands" - meringues on top of a nutmeg creme custard sauce.
So. What's missing from that picture? A cheese course? A sorbet? Any specific ideas as to what the last bit should be, to match with the rest?
And culinary experts, feel free to tell me what's wrong with the meal as presented if the dishes clash horribly or something.
