Carpe LARPam?
Mar. 16th, 2011 10:45 pmSo, it looks like if Megan and I make it down to the Twin Cities in mid to late May, I may be running a LARP. A friend of mine brought up the possibility a while ago of having me run a LARP at her birthday party, but wasn't certain if she had enough friends who might be interested.
Then it occurred to me: wait a minute. She might not have that many sufficiently geeky friends in the Twin Cities, but I sure as Hell do.
So now I'm writing and running a LARP on commission, more or less, for 10-20 people each willing to chip in $5 to defray my travel and materials expenses and whatnot. If you're in the Twin Cities area and might be interested, let me know! I haven't nearly filled up my cast list, and in fact have not yet decided on a setting, genre, or plot -- I figure I'll name as many options as are feasible and let participants vote on it. Probable range of dates is May 16th-21st, but nothing is set in stone yet.
I'm really excited about this. I'm not yet being paid nearly enough to make a living at this sort of thing, but between this and Megan receiving commissions for book-boxes ($30+ shipping if you want one! They're pretty amazing, guys!) we are now both officially making an income from our art.
I can't express how huge and joyful that is to me.
