Coffee coffee coffee.
Jan. 6th, 2012 12:45 pmI have Things To Accomplish today. Doing okay at 'em so far.
Book tracking: re-read Stormbreaker, Eagle Strike, and Scorpia by Anthony Horowitz, as I intend to become ludicrously prolific writing Alex Rider fanfic this year. Figured a canon review was called for.
I had forgotten just how messy and violent the early series was -- I mean, the later series is too, but I had misremembered it as a gradual progression, rather than jumping in the deep end right away. They're delightful spy adventures, though. And they have perfect James Bond one-liners.
CRAZY VILLAIN: *is pushed down the emergency slide of a taxi-ing aircraft by a drink cart and sucked into the jet engine*.
OTHER CHARACTER: ...What happened to CRAZY VILLAIN?
OUR HERO: He went off his trolley.
Priceless.
Anyway, if there are any other Alex Rider fans about, I'm going to have fanfic for you to beta sometime soonish. Anyone interested?
I'm also working on fanfic for Haruhi Suzumiya -- specifically, an AU ending of Disappearance. Anyone interested in reading that one?
Other current projects: Mina de Malfois fic; a story called Green-Eyed Monsters which is my Christmas present to Megan, and a steampunk alt history spy caper about The Great Game called When Everyone Is Dead. I was going to just call it The Picaresque, but that seemed a little too generic as a title.
Other other current projects: novel, LARP, Periodic Tome. Not likely to get much work done on those until the second half of the month. My priorities right now are the Mina fic and When Everyone Is Dead, because they have deadlines attached to 'em, and potentially, paychecks.
Off to drink more coffee and accomplish more things. Maybe even (God only knows) writing.

Date: 2012-01-06 11:52 pm (UTC)Not sure if you saw me talking about an AO3 fandom that unnerved me the other day, but it was this one
(trigger warning)
-- almost half the stories on the Archive are Yassen/Alex non-con. I don't have a problem with that in a single story, but it being the dominant fan narrative alarmed me a bit -- so, since the answer to free speech I dislike is more speech, I decided that I want to write massive amounts of fic on other subjects and pairings in the fandom.
