Slogging away.
Jan. 8th, 2012 01:53 amWriting going slowly, but I have a Secret Plan to make tomorrow the most productive day I have had in months. We'll see how that goes.
In my canon review of Alex Rider, I got through Ark Angel, Snakehead, and Crocodile Tears today. As Ian Fleming pastiches, the novels just get better and better... as novels, they get a bit cliche in places. Crocodile Tears felt almost entirely like "been there, done that" territory, though it had a few memorable scenes and one genuinely terrifying spot of creative torture. The others were better -- Scorpia, Ark Angel, & Snakehead really put Alex through the wringer, physically and psychologically, and reading them as a trilogy, they build on one anotehr in very interesting ways. If anyone else has read them, I'd be very interested in discussing them.
