Chapter Eight!

Chapter Nine is essentially finished -- I'd post it now, but if people tell me that Chapter Eight needs to be trimmed down a bit (it's pretty talky), there are some pieces I need to splice into Nine rather than lose entirely.
So the sooner I hear back on that, the sooner the next bit goes up. Yes, I am shameless, XD, but I swear in this case it isn't a deliberate scheme but a legit editorial concern.
Probably doesn't need saying, but in finishing the edits I more than made up for yesterday's failure to write, and breezed past today's quota as well.
