Going easy on myself.

matt_doyleFirst of all, new default icon. I like bright colors, and while I'm still ambivalent about not being The Guy With Long Hair anymore, I do like the way I look and figured I should represent the modern me here.
Second of all, wow, I have not been posting. And that... that is okay. Even if I want to be all professional and networky and demonstrate to people who might pay me to write or blog what a regular blog I've got... right now I am stressed and overcommitted and just plain not having fun. Kind of the whole point of trying to build a career around blogging, writing, and game design is that it is radically more fun than other career paths. If I'm not enjoying it, screw it.
So I'm giving myself Official Permission not to post five days a week, for at least the rest of the month. I have no idea what effect this will have on my posting frequency, but a very good idea what it will do for my peace of mind. Does this mean botching one of my New Year's Resolutions? Well, yeah. But I'm way behind on writing and weight loss too, and those are more important to me. It's okay to change my own goals. Seems like that should not be so hard to believe.
Seriously I really like that new icon. If I had more icon space on LJ as well as DW (please do not buy me paid time on LJ, I do not wish to financially support their customer abuse), I would also upload an icon of me in my white hat.
Ooooh I can and should do that on Dreamwidth anyway. If I post with it, it will just criosspost default to my snazzy new red hat default icon, anyway.
